Overview of Specialized Infrastructure
The JFrog Platform Admin team has provided additional instances of the JFrog Enterprise+ application, that is intended to support specialized use cases within the Ford developent ecosystem. These instances are not intended to be used for general development purposes, but rather for specific use cases that require additional capabilities or configurations.
Supplier Instance
The Supplier instance is provided to support the tighter integration between Ford and its suppliers. It is designed to facilitate the management of dependencies and artifacts that are specific to supplier relationships. This instance includes features such as enhanced security, access controls, and tailored workflows that are necessary for managing supplier-related artifacts.
Additional documentation for the Supplier instance can be found in here.
Open Edge Node
The Open Edge Node is designed to provide a flexible and scalable solution for retrieving public artifacts from within the Ford internal network without requiring additional authentication. This instance does not require a login, but it limited to repositories that are publicly accessible. It is ideal for scenarios where developers need to quickly access open-source libraries and tools without the overhead of authentication, while still maintaining a secure environment.

Internal Edge Node
The Internal Edge Node is designed to provide a flexible and scalable solution for locating high use repositories within the Ford internal network. This instance is intended to facilitate the retrieval of artifacts that are frequently used across various teams and projects within Ford. This is intended to help reduce SaaS transfer costs, as well as to improve the performance of artifact retrieval by caching frequently accessed artifacts within the internal network. It is ideal for scenarios where teams need to access commonly used libraries and tools without the latency associated with external network requests.
