JFrog Platform Basics

JFrog is a binary dependency manager. It stores, index, and deploys components based on your usage and the feature set of each repository format.

JFrog Concepts

Here are some common terms you would hear when working with JFrog:

Project

A JFrog Artifactory project is where repositories of various types are logically grouped. While some repositories, namely public remote repositories, exist outside of projects all other repositories existing inside one based on application or a Ford organization

Repository

A repository is a container of objects consumed or created by Ford developers or Ford suppliers/partners. Many of those repos correspond to what is present in Nexus, today. Artifactory repositories are accessed best by creating a token which can be used by CI/CD pipelines and by individual developers.
